What Are Detail Profiles?

Detail profiles are connection elements that build the substructure carrying the cladding panels on the exterior facade of a reinforced concrete building. M Profile, J Profile and L Anchor are not separate products but a system that works together.

The L Anchor is fixed to the concrete and forms the main load-bearing bracket of the system. The J Profile sits horizontally on the L Anchors to form the frame. The M Profile is fixed vertically to the J Profiles with self-drilling screws and carries the facade panel. Together they form the connection chain through which the facade cladding is transferred to the concrete.

How Are Detail Profiles Made?

Detail profiles are produced by cold forming galvanised sheet on our high-tech production line. The standard grade is DX51D+Z; other grades are considered on request within the line's capabilities. All three products are made in 3000 mm lengths as standard, with custom lengths on request.

Detail Profile Types

M Profile

The facade cladding profile. Fixed vertically to the J Profiles with self-drilling screws. Embossing gives it high strength, so it does not burst during screwing. Hekim Board panels are fixed with Hekim Board hyb self-drilling screws made for M Profiles.

ThicknessWidthHeightLengthMaterial
0.45 / 0.50 / 0.60 mm, standard 0.50 mm80 mm25 mm3000 mmDX51D+Z

The section has an 80 mm wide raised centre and 20 mm flanges on each side; the total bearing width is 120 mm. Consumption per square metre is 2.7 metres, depending on the structural calculation.

J Profile

Sits horizontally on the main load-bearing L Anchors to form the frame and carries the M Profiles vertically. Fixed with self-drilling screws. Generally not used vertically, though it may be used in detail solutions on request.

ThicknessWidthHeightLengthMaterial
1.50 mm35 mm25 mm3000 mmDX51D+Z

The section has a 15 mm high lip. Consumption per square metre is 2.7 metres, depending on the structural calculation.

L Anchor

The L Anchor (bracket) is used as the main load-bearing bracket in reinforced concrete buildings. Available in various sizes in 2 and 3 mm thicknesses, produced pre-punched with slots. Made from DX51D+Z as standard; other grades are considered on request within the line's capabilities. It can be used horizontally or vertically on the wall, applied at 60–110 cm intervals according to the structural calculation and fixed with heavy-duty anchors. Consumption is 2–4 pieces per square metre, depending on the structural calculation.

Both types have a slot with an R5 end radius on the vertical leg, and Ø10 mm holes and a slot with an R6 end radius on the base leg.

How Is the Facade Connection System Installed?

The system is installed in three stages:

  1. The L Anchor is fixed to the concrete. A hole suitable for the anchor is drilled, cleaned of debris and dust, adhesive is applied, the anchor is placed and then fixed with heavy-duty anchors.
  2. The J Profile is mounted horizontally. It is fixed onto the L Anchors with self-drilling screws, forming the facade's horizontal frame.
  3. The M Profile is mounted vertically. It is fixed to the J Profiles with self-drilling screws, creating the surface that carries the facade panel.

The number of anchors per square metre is set by the structural calculation. The bonding surface must be completely clean during installation, and the anchor must be checked for alignment and full seating.

Applications of Detail Profiles

Detail profiles are used in reinforced concrete and steel buildings with facade cladding. Their main applications are interior and exterior facade cladding systems, prefabricated and container buildings, light steel buildings, factories and production facilities, and buildings with load-bearing columns.

The system fixes the facade panel not directly to the concrete but to an adjustable substructure, so the facade plane is set independently of tolerances in the building surface.
